National Signing Day
Texas High had six athletes sign their letter-of-intent Wednesday.

National Signing Day was a festive event Wednesday with six Texas High athletes inking their respective letter-of-intent to continue their education and sports careers in college.

Five Texas High football players will be attending NCAA Division I or Division II schools next fall. There is one going to the junior college level. Softball standout Bailey Grooms will journey south to play at Galveston College.

“The five guys who signed today, and maybe two more, were members of our first freshman class,” said THS coach Gerry Stanford. “They worked hard and persevered in the classroom and on the field. It paid off with their dreams being fulfilled now.”

Two of the Tigers biggest weapons on offense were wide receiver Kobe Webster and running back Tracy Cooper. Webster is taking his talents to Memphis University. Cooper will be enrolled at Missouri State University next football season.
