TEXARKANA — The Miller County Sheriff’s Office arrested two rural Miller County parents at their residence after an investigation into the death of their infant last September.
According to the sheriff’s office, 19-year-old Dustin Harley and 24-year-old Crystal Morrow, both of Fouke, were arrested on manslaughter, a Class C felony, and endangering the welfare of a minor first degree, a Class D felony, after an investigation into an incident on Sept. 27, 2019, that left their seven-month-old daughter deceased and had her twin brother airlifted to a Little Rock hospital.
The local law enforcement authority says that deputies arrived the morning of Sept. 27 at 9:15 a.m. to discover the female toddler dead at the scene while emergency medical attention was given to the male toddler.
The Miller County Sheriff’s Office notified the Arkansas Department of Human Services and began a criminal investigation into the incident. The sheriff’s office says they worked with DHS, the Arkansas State Medical Examiner’s Office, and health care providers when conducting the investigation.
Once the investigation concluded, arrest warrants were issued for Harley and Morrow, the biological parents.
Harley and Morrow have been booked into the Miller County Detention Center where they are being held currently without bold pending their arraignment.
