East Street homicide suspects arrested in Texarkana, Little Rock

TEXARKANA — The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department has arrested two suspects, one in Texarkana and the other in Little Rock, in connection with the homicide on East Street on Feb. 3.

According to police, 22-year-old Jacquain Tyson turned himself in to police at the Bi-State Justice Center on Saturday. Tyson was charged with one count of capital murder.

On Monday, the Texarkana Arkansas police worked with Little Rock police to develop information on Keanu White’s whereabouts in Little Rock. According to police, task force officers were able to apprehend the 23-year-old and take him into custody on Monday evening. White will be brought back to Texarkana, police say, where he will be charged with one count of capital murder.

On Feb. 3, TAPD officers responded to a call of a man “possibly being shot in the chest” in the 2300 block of East Street. When officers arrived, they discovered 23-year-old Phillip A. Lee lying in front of a nearby apartment building. Lee was transported via ambulance to a nearby hospital, and succumbed to his injuries later that evening.

Detectives Wayne Easley and Jason Haak continue to work with Sergeant Paul Nall on the case, and more arrests may result from their investigation.
