Arkansas High splits 5A South games with Wildcats



Arkansas High’s boys had the ball last, but couldn’t get a shot off in the final second and lost to El Dorado, 86-85.

The Razorbacks are now 8-14 on the season, and 1-10 in 5A South play. El Dorado climbs to 8-15 and 4-7, respectively.

The loss spoiled an outstanding effort by Jaylon Randle, who scored a game-high 31 points. Andre Reed added 17 for the Hogs.

Brendan Simmons paced the Wildcats with 28 points. Jarmel Love and G’savion Levingston contributed 15 points each.

Statistics were deceiving as El Dorado committed 28 turnovers. AHS only had nine miscues.

Arkansas High’s boys and girls travel to Lakeside next Tuesday.


Arkansas High girls edge Wildcats

The Lady Backs survived a late charge by El Dorado for their third conference win, 51-47. AHS is 8-14 this season, 3-8 in league play. The Lady Wildcats fall to 9-16 overall and 5-6 in conference.

Z’niah Nelson led Arkansas High with 16 points. Jamyia Montgomery added 15 points. Kalese Montgomery paced the Wildcats with 14 points, and Rae Rester scored 12.
