Arkansas High’s boys and girls swept the team titles Thursday night at the 2020 Roy Doc Walker Hog Relays at Razorback Stadium.
The Razorbacks piled up 129.5 points to outdistance El Dorado’s 116 in the boys division. The Lady Backs raced past their opposition with 167.33 points. Magnolia was second with 130.
Torie Blair got Arkansas High off to a fast start by winning gold in the 100 with a time of 10.83. Jamarious Johnson prevailed in the 110 hurdles in 15.40.
Rome McClure and Johnson crossed the finish line 1-2 in the 300 hurdles.
AHS girls romp in Doc Walker Relays
In the girls’ division Alyssa Grissom got the Lady Backs off to a great start by winning the 100 in 12.70. Staijah Taylor then won wht 100 hurdles in 17.45.
AHS dominated the sprints with Marcayla Montgomery winning the 200, and Keeyoncce Butler taking first in the 400. The Lady Backs also won the 4×100 relay and 4×400 relay. Montgomery, Zniah Nelson, Vicazia Williams and Grissom won the shorter race in 51.22.
The Lady Backs only win in the field event came from Nelson in the triple jump.
Best track name of the year goes to El Dorado’s LaDiamond Maker. She was second in the high jump, and third in the long jump.
