TEXARKANA — The city of Texarkana, Arkansas and Miller County have established an Emergency Operations Center on Tuesday.
The new EOC will be located at the Miller County Office of Emergency Management at 1007 Jefferson Avenue in Texarkana, Arkansas.
The Arkansas side EOC, which was established in keeping with the spirit of the state of Arkansas’ directive to minimize gatherings, allows for the appropriate number of agency representatives to work together.
The EOC is committed to making decisions that are in the best possible interest of every citizen off Miller County. The new EOC asks for the continued support and understanding of the community.
The EOC will also stay in touch with Governor Asa Hutchinson and local legislators to keep an open line of communication that will also include the city of Texarkana, Texas, and neighboring Bowie County, Texas.
More information about the EOC will be available at a press conference on Thursday, April 2, at 2:00 p.m. at the Bi-State Justice Training Center. Social distancing will still be advised, and participants are subject to screening.
Miller County Judge Cathy Harrison and Texarkana, Arkansas mayor Allen Brown will be available at the press conference.
