TEXARKANA — The Texarkana Texas Police Department has announced two arrests in the shooting death of a 16-year-old male on Tuesday evening.
Police have arrested 20-year-old Demarious Taylor of Ashdown and his sister, 21-year-old Bosnia Taylor of Texarkana, Arkansas. Both have been charged with murder and booked into the Bi-State Jail. The judge has set the bond at a million dollars for each suspect involved in the fatal shooting of Notorious Crabtree.
TTPD officers responded to multiple 911 calls on Tuesday evening at 9:15 p.m. of a person who had been shot at the intersection of Westlawn Drive and Meadowbrook Lane. Officers arrived and found Crabtree lying in the street with a gunshot wound, and the 16-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, an altercation occurred between Bosnia Taylor and another woman in Texarkana, Arkansas, earlier that evening. Police say that Bosnia Taylor posted messages on social media stating she wanted to continue the fight.
Police say that Bosnia Taylor then arrived on Meadowbrook with seven other individuals, including Demarious Taylor. According to witnesses via the police, a fight broke out between the two groups, and then Bosnia asked Demarious to “shoot him.”
According to police, Demarious produced a pistol and shot Crabtree, hitting him once in the chest.
The group disbanded and left the scene in their two vehicles, police say.
More arrests could be coming, police say, as the investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Texarkana Texas Police Department at 903-798-3116 or Texarkana Area Crime Stoppers at 903-793-STOP.
