Arkansas State Police asking for witnesses of fatal hit-and-run

The Arkansas State Police is asking for the help of anyone who may have witnessed or seen evidence of a fatal hit-and-run that occurred early Tuesday evening.

According to State Police, a large sports utility type vehicle hit 51-year-old Ervin Brendel, who died sometime between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on U.S.-70 near Harris Road east of Interstate 440 in North Little Rock.

Police believe that the vehicle may have been a 2003 to 2006 GM SUV, either a Cadillac Escalade or GMC Yukon, luxury type passenger truck.

Special agents of the Arkansas State Police criminal investigation division suspect the SUV will likely have damage to the right side bumper and passenger side door. The passenger side exterior mirror is also believed to have been knocked off by the collision with the deceased.
