Gyms are now open in Texas as state officially takes its next step in the reopening process.
The state of Texas allowed Gyms to open their doors once again. The Planet Fitness off of Robison Road and New Boston Road, opened its doors at 8 am this morning but there were people waiting in the parking lot as early as 7:45 am. It was clear that gym members we eager to get back and the employees were equally as happy to welcome them back, however there are still certain precautions that the gym had to put in place for the time being. “We’ve enhanced our sanitation and cleanliness procedures,” said Regional Manager and location owner Michael Hendler, “We have hand sanitizers throughout the club. We have sanitizer stations at the front desk, in the men’s and women’s locker rooms, on our cardio area, our strength area, and our black card spa.”
Gyms now allowed to open in Texas, must take precaution
Planet Fitness are also implementing other precautions like, a new “touchless” check in system, only half of the cardio machines being available for use, and a something new they are calling “Social Fitnessing” where all guests are keeping at a safe distance while working out.
They are also being sure to comply with the state mandated restrictions which require all gyms to keep their locker rooms closed and to only operate at 25% capacity. Of course, gyms are just part of the big news today, as factories and office building were allowed to reopen to 25% capacity across the state as well. Overall, this is yet another sure, and most welcome, step towards life returning to normal.
