Arkansas may further ease coronavirus limits by region

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — The Arkansas governor says he’s considering allowing some parts of the state to further ease coronavirus restrictions even as active cases continue to rise overall. Gov. Asa Hutchinson said he’s considering entering the next phase of lifting virus restrictions by region rather than statewide. The Health Department said Thursday at least 8,425 people have tested positive for the virus, an increase from 8,067 reported a day earlier. The number of active cases, which excludes those who have died or recovered, has risen to 2,355. The department said 151 people in the state have died from the illness caused by the virus.
