The purpose of the Texarkana, Arkansas, recycling initiative is to lessen the local environmental impact by providing residents a way to recycle much of their waste.  In 2010 the city launched Green Texarkana, a monthly recycling collection. The community’s positive response and participation has helped the City secure funding for equipment that will expand recycling to more areas of town as well as commercially.
