TEXARKANA — The Texarkana Texas Police Department (TTPD) is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Saturday morning in the 1300 block of Pine Street at an apartment complex.

Police say that 40-year-old Robert Moore shot 48-year-old Quentin Minniefield multiple times. According to police, Minniefield died at the scene.

Texarkana Texas police officers responded to the report of a shooting at the apartments at 3:30 Saturday morning. Minniefield was discovered laying on the stairs outside of Moore’s apartment. Police say that Minniefield had multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased soon thereafter.

According to a witness, Minniefield began knocking on the door of Moore’s apartment, and Moore began immediately shooting at Minniefield as he opened the door, according to police. Moore fled the scene on foot before officers arrived.

Texarkana Arkansas Police Department officers arrested Moore without incident minutes later at a relative’s home in the 3500 block of County Avenue. Moore was transported to the Miller County Jail by TAPD. A murder warrant has been obtained by TTPD detectives and will be served upon his extradition back to Texas in the coming days. While a motive in the murder is not yet known, detectives have learned the two men knew each other.

Anyone with any information about the crime is asked to contact the Texarkana Texas Police Department at 903-798-3116 or call Texarkana Area Crime Stoppers at 903-793-STOP.
