TEXARKANA — The Texarkana Twins have added five new players to their roster, including a Murray State redshirt junior.
The club announced the additions of INF Casey Rother, C Ricardo Leonett, and OF Dominick Trevinio.
Slunder played in 56 games for Murray State, hitting .294, driving in 13 runs, and stealing five bases on seven attempts in the abbreviated 2020 season. The Cabot, Ark., native also had 20 hits with five doubles, one triple, and two home runs.
Leonett played in 48 games for Frank Phillips College in 2020, hitting .403, driving in 57 runs, and hitting 11 home runs. The Caracas, Venezuela, product had 18 doubles, two triples, and a .772 slugging percentage.
Rother played 32 games for the Lehigh Mountain Hawks, hitting .233, driving in 10 runs, and recording six multi-hit games. The former 2017 Pottsville Republican-Herald Offensive Player of the Year hit .472 with 10 doubles and two home runs.
Trevino started in eight games for Akron in 2020, getting 12 putouts and a 1,000% fielding percentage. The Edmond, Okla., product hit .403, drove in 57 runs, and had 11 home runs for the Northern Oklahoma College Plainsmen prior to his joining Akron.
The Twins open the season June 30 at home against the Amarillo Sod Dogs. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.
