The Arkansas State Police announced two trooper promotions during their regularly scheduled meeting of the state police commission on Thursday.
The first promotion was that of Corporal Randall Murphy, a 49-year-old special agent of Woodruff County. Murphy, a 12-year veteran of the department, was promoted to sergeant. Murphy will continue to work in his supervisory duties within the department’s criminal investigation division, company A, headquartered in Little Rock.
Corporal Chad Staley was the second promotion recommended. The 49-year-old from Hot Springs County was promoted to the rank of sergeant, and he will assume new duties as the state police’s firearms officer, headquartered in Little Rock. The 22-year veteran had previously been assigned to the state police’s training division.
The recommendations for promotion were approved by the commissioners after considering the recommendations from state police director, Col. Bill Bryant.
