TEXARKANA — The Texarkana Texas City Council will be conducting their regularly scheduled meeting on July 13 at 6:00 p.m. via video conference.
The move comes on the heels of Texas governor Greg Abbott’s executive orders intended to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Two-way communication will be available with Zoom video conferencing. However, the city says, “technical limitations necessitate reserving its use to only those who wish to comment during the public hearing scheduled during the meeting.”
Citizens who wish to address the council as part of the public hearing on the proposed renaming of Alba Street to Savanna Hill Drive must register by 12:00 p.m. Monday, July 12. The link for registering can be found by clicking here.
Public comments during the open forum segment of the agenda must be written and submitted to city secretary Jennifer Evans at firstname.lastname@example.org by 12:00 p.m. Monday. Those comments will be read aloud during that portion of the agenda. The time allotted for reading each comment will be limited to no more than five minutes.
The public is invited to view the meeting on the city’s website’s livestream by using the “Agenda and Minutes” link at www.ci.texarkana.tx.us. The agenda packet materials the council will consider at the meeting will also be available for review once posted.
