Bowie County adds 13 new COVID-19 cases

TEXARKANA — The Bowie County emergency operations center reported 13 new COVID-19 positive cases on Friday for a total of 353 since the pandemic began.

The emergency operations center now has 172 active cases, representing 0.2% of the county’s 92,565 population. Fatalities remained at 26 as did recoveries with 181.

Nearby Cass County reported 57 cases with 39 recoveries and three deaths — no change from Thursday.

The local health authority encourages anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19, or any healthcare providers who administer tests, to contact them regarding contact tracing at 903-255-5560.

The county is also offering no-cost, no-appointment testing on Monday, July 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Texarkana-Bowie Family Health Center – 902 W. 12th, Texarkana, TX 75501
  • New Boston Community Center – 301 NE Front St., New Boston, TX 75570
