The Arkansas State Police is seeking a murder suspect connected to the fatal shooting of a Howard County woman Friday morning.
State Police are looking for a Nashville man who was last seen driving away from a residence at 108 Highway 246 in Umpire. The vehicle is an orange or yellow 2008 Ford Ranger with Arkansas plates, 200 UVJ.
Police say they were coordinating with the criminal investigation division while highway patrol ground and air troopers were looking for the man for questioning.
According to police, Howard County sheriff’s deputies discovered the body of 50-year-old Renee Burgess inside the residence just after 8:30 a.m.
Witnesses told police they saw a man armed with a shotgun at the backdoor of the home before sheriff’s deputies later found Burgess deceased. Burgess’ body has been taken to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory, where a manner and cause of death will be determined.
