ARLINGTON, Texas – FOX Sports Southwest celebrates its 20th season as the television rightsholder of the Texas Rangers with plans to broadcast 58 of the club’s 60 regular season games in 2020. FSSW is the exclusive local television home of the Rangers.
The regular season schedule begins with the first regular season game ever at Globe Life Field this Friday, July 24 against the Colorado Rockies at 7:05 p.m.
FSSW will provide two hours of pre-game programming prior to first pitch on Friday night. Welcome to Globe Life Field, a 30-minute special previewing the Rangers new home, airs at 5:00 p.m. That will be followed by Rangers Insider: Season Preview Show at 5:30 p.m. An expanded one hour Rangers Live pre-game show runs from 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Dave Raymond will provide play-by-play for all games, and CJ Nitkowski and Tom Grieve will serve as analysts for the 58-game schedule in 2020. Emily Jones returns as sideline reporter for the majority of the schedule.
Rangers Live pre-game and post-game shows once again bookend every telecast this season on FOX Sports Southwest, providing in-depth analysis, interviews, highlights and more. John Rhadigan and Ric Renner will serve as hosts for the half-hour show, while Mike Bacsik, Steve Buechele, Mark McLemore, and, David Murphy join throughout the season to offer expert analysis.
The new television broadcast booth at Globe Life Field will be utilized for every game this season—both home and road. Due to health and safety concerns and with Major League Baseball’s requirement for smaller team travel parties in 2020, the Rangers FOX Sports Southwest broadcasters will be calling the action from the television booth on the Globe Life Field broadcast level during all away games. The same will be true of the other 29 MLB teams.
With the technical assistance of MLB Network, the home team’s broadcast feed will be sent to each visiting club to create the full broadcast production. The television announcers will have access to multiple camera feeds to assist in calling the action. Other communication assets between the home and visiting ballpark will enhance the games.
Rangers Live is also expected to originate live at Globe Life Field for all home and away games in 2020.
Each FOX Sports Southwest telecast will be streamed live on the FOX Sports GO app and at FOXSportsGO.com.
The Rangers are currently scheduled to play twice on FOX National exclusive telecasts in 2020, Thursday. August 27 vs. Oakland and Saturday, September 19 at Los Angeles Angels.
TUESDAY TELECAST GENERATES 1.72 RATING: Tuesday’s Texas Rangers-Colorado Rockies exhibition game at Globe Life Field generated a 1.72 household rating in the Dallas-Fort Worth Market. That marks the highest rated Texas Rangers Spring Training/Exhibition game ever on FSSW. The Rangers and Rockies play the second of their two exhibition games tonight at 7:05 p.m. on FSSW.
