Bowie County has 17 new COVID-19 cases

TEXAKANA — The Bowie County emergency operations center reported 17 new coronavirus cases on Monday, an increase to 574 confirmed cases since the pandemic began.

There have been 261 recoveries and 35 deaths. There are 278 COVID-19 cases that are active and being traced in the county.

Anyone who has tested positive or any healthcare provider that is testing for COVID-19 should notify the local health authority at 903-255-5560.

Nearby Cass County has a total of 136 cases with 48 recoveries and four deaths, an increase of 31 new cases and two new deaths since Friday. There are currently 84 active cases in Cass County.

There is free COVID-19 testing at the Bowie-Texarkana health department from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. starting July 27 and running through Saturday, August 8 (except Sundays).
