New COVID-19 fatality reported in Bowie County

TEXAKANA — The Bowie County emergency operations center reported a new coronavirus fatality on Tuesday. The death toll is now 36 in Bowie County.

There were 21 new positive COVID-19 cases, increasing the total to 595.

There have been 261 recoveries. There are 298 COVID-19 cases that are active and being traced in the county.

Anyone who has tested positive or any healthcare provider that is testing for COVID-19 should notify the local health authority at 903-255-5560.

There is free COVID-19 testing at the Bowie-Texarkana health department from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. starting July 27 and running through Saturday, August 8 (except Sundays).
