Active COVID-19 cases at 300 in Bowie County

TEXARKANA — The Bowie County emergency operations center reports the health department is tracing 300 active cases of COVID-19.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the county has risen to 619 since the pandemic began. In the same span, there have been 281 recoveries and 38 deaths.

Anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or any healthcare provider that conducts such testing should contact the health department at 903-255-5560.

There is still a free COVID-19 testing center open to the public now through Saturday, Aug. 8. The testing center is open every day (except Sundays) from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Residents interested should visit gogettested.com or register onsite. For more information, call 903-255-5560.
