TAPD arrests 18-year-old for fatal shooting of 17-year-old

TEXARKANA — The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department (TAPD) arrested an 18-year-old Tuesday in connection with the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old.

Police say that Keyuntre Ellis of Texarkana, Arkansas, shot a 17-year-old black male on Monday night shortly before 11:00 p.m. TAPD arrived on the scene at Love Creek Drive to discover the juvenile with a gunshot wound. The juvenile was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The police say they developed leads through multiple avenues that led to the issuance of a warrant for Ellis. Police say Ellis later responded to the Bi-State Building and turned himself in to detectives.
