Bowie County adds 4 new COVID-19 deaths

TEXAKANA — The Bowie County emergency operations center reported four new fatalities between Tuesday and Wednesday from COVID-19.

The death total since the pandemic began is 51. There have been a total of 783 cases with 323 recoveries and 409 cases currently being traced in the county.

Any healthcare providers or individuals who have tested positive for the virus should notify the local health authority at 903-255-5560 as the emergency operations center is still conducting contact tracing.

A free COVID-19 testing site is still open to the public through Saturday, Aug. 15. The site is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily, and no symptoms are required to get tested. Interested individuals should visit gogettested.com or call 903-255-5560. Registration can also be completed onsite. The testing site is located at the Bowie-Texarkana health department at 902 West 12th Street in Texarkana. Any questions should be directed to the health authority at 903-255-5560.
