Active cases rise to 377 in Bowie County

TEXAKANA — The Bowie County emergency operations center reported Friday that the active cases of COVID-19 has risen to 377.

All 377 active cases are being traced by the local health authority. Anyone who has tested positive or any healthcare provider that conducts such tests should contact the Bowie-Texarkana Health Department at 903-255-5560.

Since the pandemic began, there have been 805 positive COVID-19 cases with 375 recoveries and 53 deaths.

Free onsite testing at the health department is continuing through Saturday, Aug. 15. The testing site is at 902 West 12th Street in Texarkana. Tomorrow’s hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. No symptoms are needed in order to be tested. Register at gogettested.com or onsite or by calling 903-255-5560.
