Bowie County adds 11 new COVID-19 cases to tracing

TEXARKANA — The Bowie County emergency operations center reported Thursday they have 11 new cases of COVID-19 they are tracing.

Anyone who has tested positive for coronavirus or any healthcare provider that conducts such testing should notify the Bowie-Texarkana Health Department at 903-255-5560.

The total number of coronavirus cases in Bowie County since March is 1,059 with 643 recoveries and 71 deaths. There are currently 345 active cases being traced in the county.

In nearby Cass County there have been 271 cases with 236 recoveries and 12 deaths. Active cases increased to 23, which means the county cannot apply for an exemption to the statewide mask mandate as they did not go 30 straight days under 20 active cases.
