LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Twelve more people have died and 12 more are in the hospital from the illness caused by the new coronavirus. The Department of Health reported 486 new confirmed cases of the coronavirus, bringing the state’s total since the virus began to 74,772. The state also reported 131 new probable cases. The state has had 1,209 deaths from COVID-19 since the outbreak began in March, and 459 people are now in the hospital. Gov. Asa Hutchinson laid out a strategy for the fall and winter that included increased flu shot participation and emphasizing continued use of masks and social distancing.
