TEXARKANA — The Texarkana Texas Police Department (TTPD) arrested a man Saturday morning on charges of vehicle burglary.

TTPD announced on their Facebook page Wednesday morning they arrested Zane Godwin on Saturday morning after a witness called 911 and reported seeing a man wearing dark clothing wandering around a local hotel parking lot and pulling on car door handles, police say.

According to police, Godwin left the area before officers could get there, but officers Ben Thomes and Daniel Linn stopped Godwin’s silver van a mile away.

Police say in the back of the van there were an assortment of items from a Yeti cooler to a ladder to a floor jack, which police believe were taken from traveler vehicles.

According to police, the items were taken from trucks parked in a hotel parking lot.

Texarkana Texas police arrested Godwin for two counts of vehicle burglary and two counts of drug possession as police say they found him in possession of marijuana and a controlled substance.

Godwin was booked into the Bi-State Jail with a bond of $15,000. Police say all items were returned to their rightful owners.
