Bowie County reports 86 new COVID-19 cases

TEXARKANA — The Bowie County emergency operations center reported Monday there have been 86 new COVID-19 cases since Oct. 15 for a total of 430 active cases in the county, according to the Texas’ department of health numbers.

Since the pandemic began, there have been 1,653 positive cases in the county with 1,148 recoveries and 75 deaths.

Through the rest of the year, there will be free COVID-19 testing from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Texarkana-Bowie County Family Health Center at 902 West 12th Street, Texarkana, TX 75501. There are no requirements for testing, and results from an oral swab are available in 48-96 hours. Registration is available at www.gogettested.com.
