TEXARKANA — Two staff members for the Texarkana Arkansas School District (TASD) tested positive for the coronavirus, the district announced Monday.

The district would not disclose at what school the two staff members work, only that one classroom is quarantined. The staff members will not return to school for at least 10 days, and students who were in close contact with the staff member will be quarantined for 14 days. The district says that all other classes resumed as normal Monday morning.

The school district’s established protocol is to thoroughly disinfect all areas of the building that the individual used in the past couple of days. The district is also in contact with the Arkansas Department of Health and says they will take the steps necessary to protect the health of our students and staff.

TASD says they are closely monitoring the situation.
