TEXARKANA — The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department (TAPD) arrested two suspects connected to the theft of delivered packages from the doorsteps of local neighborhoods.
TAPD arrested 40-year-old Damien Crooks and 34-year-old Joy Lantrip, both of Texarkana, on charges of felony fleeing, theft by receiving, and criminal mischief on Tuesday after a vehicle pursuit.
According to police, the TAPD and the Texarkana Texas Police Department were developing information that a black male in a white Nissan Titan truck was traveling through local neighborhoods and removing delivered packages from residences.
Police say they responded to 911 call of a package theft in the 2800 block of Union Road with information that matched developed intelligence. According to police, officer Jacob Montoya of the Arkansas side attempted to make a traffic stop with the suspect vehicle, the white Nissan Titan truck, at the intersection of Union Road and Line Ferry Road. When the suspect vehicle did not stop for police, a vehicle pursuit ensued, but police say it ended safely in the 4800 block of Old Blackmon Ferry Road.
Police say that anyone who has not received their packages or believes they have been the victim of a theft should call 911 to report the incident.
