TEXARKANA — The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department (TAPD) arrested a suspect involved in an armed robbery of a convenience store on Jan. 12 at 7:30 p.m.

The armed robbery took place at Speed X on 2404 North Stateline Avenue. 26-year-old Jonathan Carroll was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm, fleeing, and refusal to submit to arrest.

TAPD received a call from the convenience store of a black male wearing a black mask, black hoodie, blue jeans, and brandishing a pistol demanding money from the register. Police say the suspect fired a shot from the gun in the direction of the clerk before running out of the exit doors.

Police say an officer located an individual at the intersection of Laurel Street and East 24th Street that would not comply with an officer’s requests. Two TAPD officers had to make contact with the individual, and their investigation revealed he was Carroll and he had a firearm and a black mask, police say.
