The Pleasant Grove Hawks boys basketball team is in sole possession of first place in their district after a 60-48 win at Hawks Gym Friday.
The Hawks were led by senior guard T’vondrick Henry who scored 17 points. Torey Phillips and Torion Phillips each scored fourteen. Trey Stuart scored 9 points for the Hawks with all of his points coming in the second half.
Paris’ superstar Jaelyn Lee (6’6. JR. Forward) racked up 21 points, but it wasn’t enough.
Hawks Coach Dwight McCowan said it was a great effort
“We’re just really blessed to have this team win.” Dwight McCowan, Pleasant Grove head boys basketball coach said. “It was a great effort on the defensive end and rebounding. We just need to keep getting better.”
The Hawks, who are 4-0 in district will host Pittsburg on Tuesday. The PG vs Pittsburg game will be broadcasted live on 94.1 FM ESPN-Texarkana and on line at ESPNTexarkana.com.
Pittsburg beat North Lamar at North Lamar Friday 43-36. The Pirates are 1-3 in district.
