TEXARKANA — The Texarkana Texas Municipal Court is offering an amnesty program starting Feb. 8 and running through April 16.
Citizens with outstanding warrants with the Texarkana Texas Municipal Court are eligible to come in before April 16 and pay the warrant fine in full without being arrested.
The city says that anyone wishing to inquire about a Texarkana Texas Municipal Court warrant, which is a Class C misdemeanor, should call these three numbers Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.:
Citizens can pay their warrant in full with either cash or money order. The city stresses that no checks or debit cards will be accepted.
The warrants may be paid Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Texas Pay Fine Window locate on the first floor of the Bi-State Justice Building at 100 North State Line in Texarkana, Texas. The fines must be paid in full before April 16 to take advantage of the amnesty program.
When paying the fine, citizens will not be arrested and the warrant will be recalled after the payment is made. Citizens are encouraged to call after making their payment to ensure the warrant was actually rescinded.
The city is offering the amnesty program to help citizens have a chance to clear up any warrants. If a warrant is still outstanding after April 16, a citizen risks being arrested and taken to jail and incurring a larger fine.
