The Liberty-Eylau Lady Leopards finished their girls varsity basketball district season strong with an 87-71 win at Pittsburg Friday. The Lady Leopards (20-7,8-2) finished second in district behind Gilmer.
The Lady Leopards will play Tyler Chapel Hill Thursday night at 6 p.m. in the Bi-District playoffs at Marshall. The game will be broadcasted live on Fox Sports Texarkana 97.1 FM and 1400 AM. The game will also be broadcasted live online on the radio station’s website and on the Freed AM Sports APP.
Craig Norman will announce the LE girls game on the radio for Fox Sports Texarkana Thursday.
Lady Leopards were led by Briana Block
The Lady Leopards were led in Friday night by Briana Block who poured in 25 points. Block’s teammate Kayla Crabtree scored 21 while Ja’Niya Sanders pitched in with sixteen.
Lady Leopards head coach Lemarcus Franklin said he was proud of the way his girls played on the road.
“We talked all week abut finishing strong with district play and hitting our stride going into the playoffs,” Coach Franklin said. “I think we accomplished that tonight.
Coach Franklin said that Tyler Chapel Hill is athletic and they like to run.
“We have our work cut out for us taking away what they like to do and disrupting their flow,” Franklin said.
The Lady Leopards will get to work on preparing for the playoffs Monday.
