The Arkansas State Police approved three promotions of officers at their monthly meeting of state police commissioners Thursday.
The first promotion was of 49-year-old Sergeant Tiffany Dycus of Faulkner County to the rank of lieutenant. Dycus is currently assigned to the officer of professional standards, but will now have new duties at the Arkansas State Police Building and Regulatory Services Division. Lt. Dycus is a 17-year veteran of the force.
The second promotion was of 49-year-old Sergeant Philip Hydron of Crittenden County. Hyrdron currently is assigned as a highway patrol division post supervisor in Troop D. The promotion to lieutenant allows for Hydron to assume new duties as assistant commander of Troop D at the Forrest City headquarters. Lt. Hydron is a 17-year veteran of the force.
The third promotion was of 34-year-old Sergeant Brandon Margis of Sebastian County. Margis currently is assigned as a highway patrol division post supervisor at Troop H in Fort Smith. Margis will now take on new duties as assistant commander of Troop L headquartered in Lowell. Lt. Margis is a 10-year veteran of the state police.
The recommendations were presented to the commission by Colonel Bill Bryant, state police director.
