Kilgore upsets Hawks in bi-district playoff game in Marshall, 62-57

MARSHALL, Texas – Pleasant Grove couldn’t match Kilgore’s balance attack offensively Monday night. The Bulldogs eliminated the Hawks from the Region II-4A bi-district playoffs at Marshall High School, 62-57.

“We just came up short,” said Pleasant Grove coach Dwight McCowan. “Hats off to Kilgore, and good luck to them.”


Henry shines in bi-district game

The Hawks got an outstanding performance from senior T’vondrick Henry, who poured in 28 points in his finale.

Kilgore (16-8) had three players in double figures. Isaac Hobright led the Bulldogs with 16 points. Junior Javoria Easley added 11 points, and C.J. Ingram scored 10 points.

The Bulldogs finished third in 16-4A, while Pleasant Grove was co-champions with Paris in 15-4A. Kilgore now plays Canton or Sunnyvale, which play Tuesday.

The game was broadcast on ESPN Texarkana, 94.1 FM.
