EL DORADO, Ark. – It was the epitome of a pitching duel Tuesday night as Arkansas High prevailed over El Dorado in nine innings, 2-0.
The Razorbacks (11-12, 9-2) are tied with Sheridan for first place in Conference 5A South. AHS needs to win its final three league games to win a title and get the top seed. If the two teams finish tied, Sheridan would be the top seed by virtue of its two wins over the Hogs.
“Ty Waid was lights out tonight!” said Arkansas High coach Layne Berry. “He had command of all three pitches. Braylon Bishop came in and shut the door after Ty ran out of elgibility.

Waid went 7 1/3 innings, allowed two hits and striking out 10 Wildcats. Bishop held the home team hitless the final 1 2/3 innings, walking one and striking out five.
Jackson Harris was the Razorbacks’ hero at the plate with a two-strike double that score Bishop in the ninth. Pinch-runner Aiden Smith scored the second run. Both Bishop and Harris had two hits each. Luke Paxton had Arkansas High’s other hit.
Arkansas High will host Hot Springs Lakeside Friday night. Sheridan defeated Lakeside Tuesday, 9-1.
