TEXARKANA — An Arkansas High School senior was named as the Broadcast On-Air Talent of the year by the Arkansas Scholastic Press Association.

Evin Burton, a three-year member of Razorback TV, took home the award during the association’s annual convention, which was held virtually.

Razorback TV teacher Michael Westbrook says it is the first time a Razorback has earned first place in such a category.

“This is the first time a Razorback TV student has been the recipient of first place in this category,” Westbrook said.

Burton is the co-host of RTV News and On Our Campus.

Also winning awards were Brayden Capps and Gaylon Williams, who both received the gold medal in audio/radio production on April 23 at the Arkansas Skills USA State Championship. For Capps, it is a consecutive state championship.

Burton was also among an ensemble of Haylee Bustin, Demonte Jamison, and Kloe Witt, who took home the bronze medal for broadcast news production.or Broadcast News Production.
