Liberty-Eylau senior Tavieon Neal anchored the Leopards' 4 x 100 relay team to a season-best 41.49 at the UIL Track & Field Championships.

AUSTIN, Texas –  Sometimes it’s mind-boggling how fast they run, and how far they jump during the UIL Track & Field Championships. Waco La Vega’s boys and Kennedale’s girls had incredible performances.

Both Liberty-Eylau’s boys and girls had season-best performances in some events, but it was not quite enough to bring home any gold in Class 4A.

The Leopards’ boys (Marquarius Price, Jeavon Stewart, Kayden Cooper and Tavieon Neal)  ran a sensational 41.49 to place third in the 4 x 100 relay. La Vega won in 40.71.

It should be noted that Waco La Vega won the boys’ team title with 82 points. L-E was ninth with 20.

Kennedale won all three relays, and the team title with 84 points. They won the 4 x 100 in 46.94. Dallas Carter was second in 47.70, Wichita Falls Hirschi third in 47.75, and Liberty-Eylau fourth with a season-best 47.76. Chelsea Simmons, Laqukeisha Jeffery, Tamara Norris and Janiya Sanders missed a medal by .01.

Indiyah Aldridge replaced Norris on the 4 x 200, and L-E finished fifth in a season-best 1:43.83.
