STILLWATER, Okla. — Baylor fell to No. 21 Oklahoma State, 3-1, on Saturday night at O’Brate Stadium in Stillwater, Okla. The Bears (29-16, 9-11 Big 12) will look to avoid the sweep to the Cowboys (30-15-1, 12-11 Big 12) on Sunday.

Baylor struck first in the top of the third after true freshman Jacob Schoenvogel got on with a single to left field. In the next at-bat, sophomore Jack Pineda doubled off the wall in left center to score Schoenvogel and put the Bears up 1-0.

The Cowboys answered back in the bottom half of the frame after scoring two runs on a two-out error. OSU plated another in the frame to make in 3-1, with all the runs being unearned.

The Bears had a chance to cut into the lead in the fourth after a leadoff double from fifth-year senior Andy Thomas and a single to put runners on the corners with one out by second-year freshman Kyle Nevin. A strikeout and fielder’s choice ended the BU threat.

Fifth-year senior Hayden Kettler (4-3) kept the high-octane OSU offense in check after hurling 5.1 innings, while not giving up any earned runs and striking out six. Fifth-year senior Ryan Leckich and freshman Chandler Freeman closed things out on the mound with a combined 2.2 scoreless innings.

The Bears had a chance in the ninth after fourth-year junior Davion Downey roped a two-out two-strike double to left center. Following a pinch hit walk from freshman Beau Wimpee, a strikeout sealed the game at 3-1.

Oklahoma State starter Justin Campbell (6-1) threw eight innings in the win, while reliever Zach Cable (1) earned his first save of the season.
