TEXARKANA — The Texarkana Arkansas School District (TASD) says they will host a Professional Learning Communities event at Work® LIVE Institute on June 2-4, 2021.
The institute will be streamed concurrently from campuses within the district and will feature leading education experts with firsthand experience using the PLC at Work process to transform teaching and learning.
The PLC at Work process drives three ideas: focus on learning, build a collaborative culture, and focus on results. In PLCs, teachers work in collaborative teams and all students learn at high levels.
“We are extremely excited to offer this high level training to educators in our district,” TASD superintendent Dr. Becky Kesler said. “Presenters will deliver keynotes and breakout sessions designed to deepen the expertise of educators and provide actionable solutions for the most pressing issues in education.”
The live-streaming allows the entire school community to take part in the sharing of knowledge and “increasing collective efficacy,” according to the district.
In addition, there will be a special webinar entitled “Parents as Partners!” on June 3 that will introduce to parents and caregivers the PLC process and share ways they can support their child’s learning.
The institute is produced and presented by Solution Tree, an educational publisher and professional development providers, which has been around for more than 20 years to transform education worldwide and empower educators to raise student achievement.
