TEXARKANA — The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department (TAPD) is investigating a shooting that took place in the 1600 block of Walter Street at around 9:00 p.m. June 3.
Police believe the shooting was the result of drug related activities and that the event is not a random act of violence.
According to police, they located two individuals who were transported to a local hospital. A third individual was also taken to a nearby hospital. Police believe, from evidence gathered at the scene and interviews of multiple people, that the shooting was related to drug activities. Police say all individuals involved in the incident are adults.
Police say that immediate life-saving measures taken by the responding officers and the medical staff of LifeNet and Wadley Hospital treated the injuries and no longer appear to be life-threatening.
TAPD says their investigation will continue and multiple arrest warrants will be issued.
