The Arkansas State Police announced three promotions during their regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday.
Colonel Bill Bryant, the director of the Arkansas State Police, presented the recommendations to the commission.
Trooper first class Wade Schanzlin of Ouachita County was promoted to the rank of sergeant. The 43-year-old is a seven-year veteran of the department. Sgt. Schanzlin will assume post supervisory duties within the department’s highway patrol division at Troop F headquartered in Warren.
Corporal Jay McAllister of Saline County was also promoted to the rank of sergeant. The 34-year-old is a 10-year veteran of the department. Sgt. McAllister will assume post supervisory duties within the department’s highway patrol division, Troop A, headquartered at Little Rock.
Lieutenant Scott Russell of Grant County was promoted to the rank of captain, and will assume commander duties within the highway patrol division, Troop L, headquartered in Lowell.
Capt. Russell is an 18-year state police veteran and most recently has been assigned as the commander of CID, Company A, headquartered in Little Rock.
