ATLANTA, Texas — The Texas Department of Transportation announced they will add safety features to six sections of area highways in Northeast Texas over the next couple of years.
The plans were approved by TXDOT in June. The project will start in August and take around two years to complete.
“This project is designed to reduce the severity of traffic incidents where vehicles leave the roadway,” said Paul Wong, Area Engineer for TXDOT in Texarkana. “We are looking at installing additional safety features on driveway culverts and drainage structures along several sections of highways in Bowie, Morris and Titus Counties.”
The winning bid was $1.5 million and went to H X Farms, Inc. in Hallsville, Texas.
