TEXARKANA — The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department (TAPD) says that a suspect in the fatal shooting on East 49th Street on July 10 has turned herself in.
Police say that 28-year-old Tandraniqua S. Burris of Texarkana, Texas, turned herself in to the TAPD at around 10:00 a.m. Friday. According to police, Burris did not give any statement at this time. She has been booked into the Miller County Jail on murder in the first degree, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm by certain persons.
According to police, on July 10 at around 11:20 p.m., there was a shooting incident in the 300 block of East 49th Street. Officers arrived to discover two victims with gunshot wounds, one of which appeared serious. That victim was 33-year-old Aaron Brown, who officers rendered aid to and was transported to St. Michaels Hospital. However, Brown was later pronounced deceased after being shot multiple times.
Police say that the shooting may have been the result of a confrontation in the roadway between a motorist and Brown, who was headed into the Whiskey River Bar with the second victim and friends. An arrest warrant was issued for Burris after investigators developed multiple persons of interest and conducted interviews.
The case still remains under investigation.
