Round Rock dropped a 5-4 decision on Tuesday night against Oklahoma City at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. LF Leody Taveras (1-for-3, 2 RBI, BB) lifted a 2-run HR in the 5th inning, as his 17 HR this season rank T2nd among club leaders (19-Pozo, 17-Taveras/Terry). The 22-year-old’s 55 RBI in 2021 are one shy of matching his career high of 56 set in 2019. C John Hicks (3-for-4, R, 2 SB) recorded a pair of stolen bases and a trio of singles to raise his August slash line to .320/.346/.640/.986 (16-50). LHP Jake Latz surrendered 4 R-ER over 4.0 IP in his 2nd career start at Triple-A (6 H, 2 BB, 5 SO).

Today’s Probable Starter: RHP John Matthews The Woodies cruised to a 5-1 victory over the Kannapolis Cannonballs last night after plating 3 runs in the game’s opening frame. Starting RHP Gavin Collyer did not factor into the decision, but racked up 7 strikeouts over 4.2 scoreless innings (2 H, 3 BB). The 20-year-old righty has only allowed just one run over his last 3 appearances (0.66 ERA), holding opponents to a .128 BA (6-47) with 15 K’s in that span. SS Keyber Rodriguez (1-for-4, 2 RBI, SB) led the Ducks offensively, connecting for his 4th HR of the season in the 3rd inning. CF Angel Aponte worked 2 walks, and swiped his 12th SB of ’21. RHP Nick Yoder bagged the win after working 2.1 perfect frames in relief (0 H, 0 BB, 5 SO).

The ACL Rangers defeated the ACL Royals Blue 9-1 on Tuesday night, pushing themselves into 2nd place in the ACL West division standings behind the ACL Mariners (25-9). RF Yosy Galan (2-for-5, HR, 3B) collected 7 total bases and a game-high 4 RBI, as he has homered in 3 of his last 4 G.
