Brent Bearden will finally be inducted into the Fox Fan Fest Hall of Fame. Brent will be enshrined this Thursday, September 9th at 5:45 p.m. at the Mighty Crab on Gibson LN in Texarkana, Texas.
Bearden has many accomplishments. Bearden is a former Baylor pitching great, Arkansas High baseball great, youth coach, and family man.
Brent Bearden is a hall of fame family man
Brent is married to Jenny Treadway Bearden. Together they have two children, Brooklynn and Brock. Brock will be a senior on the Pleasant Grove Hawks baseball team this coming season. Brock was a star on the 2021 Hawks state championship team. Brooklyn is a junior at Baylor where she is studying speech pathology.
Jenny works at PGISD where she is the speech pathologist.
Currently Brent is the sales manager at Texarkana Mack. He also offers baseball lessons to local ballplayers.
Brent played one year of professional ball. Bearden, a 6’4 right handed fire baller was 3-1 with a 3.68 era one summer. He led the Class A New York-Pennsylvania League in strikeouts.
Bearden quit playing after his dad (Don) died. He said he promised his father he’d look after his mother if anything happened to him.
Don Bearden coached American legion and Dixie ball while Brent and his brother were growing up.
Brent played high school baseball at Arkansas High. He played college baseball at Texarkana College and Baylor. Brent pitched on the Baylor team that won the Southwest Conference championship in 1993. He was an incredible pitcher for Arkansas High but he also hit 10 home runs.
Prior to playing collegiately at Texarkana College and Baylor. Brent helped carry the Texarkana Razorbacks to the American Legion World Series in 1990. The locals finished third to Puerto Rico.
He then played a significant role in the Texarkana Bulldogs winning the school’s first conference championship. He was voted MVP in 1994 when he pitched Baylor to the Southwest Conference crown.
In 2012 Brent coached the Texarkana 8 year old Dixie team to a state championship. Brent’s son Brock, JM Long and Blake Jennings (PG Hawk players on the state championship Hawk team) were all on that 8 year old state championship team.
There will be a reception at 5:30 p.m., and ceremony at 5:45 p.m. this Thursday at the Mighty Crab. Bearden will then be Bob DelGiorno’s guest during the first few minutes of the weekly show at the restaurant.
Brent can’t stay long Thursday, he’ll have to get to a batting practice where he’s tutoring young ball players after the ceremony.
