Round Rock (AAA) was routed 9-1 by visiting Sugar Land last night, snapping club’s season-best 7-game winning streak. RHP Chase Anderson (3.0 IP, 4 H, 4 R-2 ER, 2 BB, 3 SO, 1 HR) took the loss in his 2nd start with the TEX organization. Express batters were held to just 4 hits on the night, 2 of which came from 2B Trace Loehr (2-for-3, 2B). DH Josh Jung reached base twice via a pair of walks, and RF Elier Hernandez tallied Round Rock’s lone scoring output in the contest with a solo HR (16) in the 4th inning.



Frisco (AA) plated 5 runs in the 8th inning to complete a come-from-behind, 7-4 victory over San Antonio at Riders Field last night. All of the RoughRiders’ 5 runs in the 8th came via a pair of long balls by 3B Davis Wendzel (2-R) and DH Melvin Novoa (3-R). 1B Sam Huff went 0-for-1, but worked a season-high 3 walks. 2B Justin Foscue (1-for-3, 2B, RBI) doubled off prized Padres pitching prospect LHP MacKenzie Gore in the 2nd inn., Frisco’s lone XBH against the 22-year-old southpaw. RHP Ronny Henriquez did not factor into the decision in his 10th start (5.0 IP, 4 H, 4 R-ER, 0 BB, 5 SO, 2 HR) and RHP Chase Lee bagged his 3rd save of the year after punching out all 3 BF in the 9th.



Hickory (A+) suffered a franchise-record 13th straight loss last night, dropping a 7-4 decision to the visiting Greenville Drive. SS Ezequiel Duran (3-for-5, HR, 2B, 3 RBI) put the Crawdads in front early in the 1st inning with a 2-R HR (19), extending his active hit streak to 8 straight G: .371/.410/.600/1.010 (13-35), 2 HR, 2 2B, 6 RBI. Starter RHP Ben Anderson took no decision despite turning in a solid outing (5.0 IP, 2 R-ER, 7 SO), lowering his ERA in 9 G/4 GS with Hickory to 4.06 (14 ER/31.0 IP).

Down East (A) dropped a 14-10 shootout at Carolina yesterday, with 8 of the Wood Ducks’ 9 starting batters notching at least one hit. 1B Cristian Inoa (3-for-5, 2 RBI) led the Woodies with 3 hits, raising his September slash line to .433/.459/.667/1.126 (13-30). LF Alejandro Osuna (2-for-2, 2 BB, RBI) reached base 4 times out of the 9-hole in the batting order, including a solo HR (6) in the 9th inning. DH Aaron Zavala (1-for-5, 2B) has batted .333 (11-33) through his 1st 9 G with Down East following a promotion from the ACL Rangers (Rookie) on 9/2.



The ACL Rangers (Rookie) staved off a 4-run rally by the ACL Angels in the 9th inning last night, holding on for a 7-5 win. SS Anderson Tejeda (2-for-3, 2B, BB) and DH Yosy Galan (2-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI) each tallied multiple hits, and 2B Cameron Cauley (1-for-4, 3B, 3 RBI) plated a game-high 3 RBI on a bases-clearing triple in the 1st inning. LF Willie Calhoun (1-for-3, RBI, BB) reached base twice via a single and walk, and has batted .353 (6-17) with a .450 OBP through 5 G of his Complex League rehab stint. Starter RHP Winston Santos earned the win after spinning a dominant 5.0-inn. start (2 H, 1 R-ER, 1 BB, 6 SO).
