ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — The Ouachita Baptist University football team moved up one spot in both of the latest NCAA Division II football top 25 polls.

Following a 38-24 win over Arkansas Tech this past Saturday to remain undefeated this season at 3-0, the Tigers moved up one spot to No. 8 in this week’s American Football Coaches Association Top 25 poll, and also moved up one spot to No. 7 in the D2Football.com Top 25.

The Tigers also moved up one spot to No. 8 in this week’s NCAA Power 10 rankings.

The one-spot move in both polls can be attributed, in part, to previously fifth-ranked Lenoir Rhyne, which lost 28-21 this past weekend to Newberry.

In addition to staying undefeated, the Tigers also captured their 30th consecutive conference victory with Saturday’s win over Arkansas Tech.

This Saturday, September 25, Ouachita will face its first opponent of the season garnering recognition in these top 25 polls. Harding (2-1) is receiving votes in this week’s AFCA poll, but is ranked No. 22 in the D2Football.com poll. The Bisons (2-1) are coming off a convincing 37-6 road victory over Southern Arkansas this past Saturday.

The Ouachita-Harding matchup will feature the two top rushing offenses in the country. Harding is leading the nation at 380 yards on the ground per game. Ouachita is second with an average of 290.

Kickoff on Saturday is 6 p.m. in Searcy.
