TEXARKANA — The Texarkana Arkansas School District (TASD) says they were made aware of a threat written in one of the restroom stalls at Arkansas High School.
The school district says that campus administrators, school district security personnel, along with the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department, followed a threat assessment protocol to determine the validity of the threat.
TASD says that it was determined the threat was not credible.
However, the school district says there is additional police presence on campus, and TASD will continue to work with TAPD to further investigate the incident.
TASD says that they will, “stay vigilant and work together to ensure the safety of our schools and our community,” and encourage parents to talk to children to let them know who to reach out to in order to report suspicious behavior.
The school district did not provide any specifics as to what the threat written on the restroom stalls at AHS said.
